 Overcoming Addictions in Christ was founded by Pastor Andrew Ward, who carries a deeply personal burden for this ministry. Pastor Andrew has lost family members to the ravages of addiction, and that loss has given him an unshakable compassion for every man and woman still trapped in its grip. But his conviction for this ministry was not settled by grief. It was settled by his belief in God and the sufficiency of His Word. Scripture does not merely acknowledge the bondage of addiction. It speaks directly and powerfully into it, diagnosing the true nature of the problem and declaring the only remedy strong enough to overcome it.

For years, Pastor Andrew has taken that conviction into some of the darkest places, serving in jail ministry and leading weekly recovery meetings. He has sat across from men and women who believed their chains were permanent, and he has watched Scripture do what no program, willpower, or self-help strategy could do. Jesus Himself declared, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." That is not a slogan. It is a promise from the mouth of Christ, and it is the foundation on which this entire ministry stands.

Overcoming Addictions in Christ exists to take that promise out of the pages of the Bible and place it into the hardest, most desperate struggles of real life. This is not therapy dressed in Christian language. It is the conviction that the gospel itself, applied faithfully and taught clearly, is sufficient to break the power of addiction and replace it with lasting freedom in Christ.

Pastor Andrew's forthcoming book, Overcoming Addictions in Christ, releasing in January 2027, carries that same unwavering message to a wider audience. Addiction does not have the final word over anyone's life. Christ does.

Just like you, we are real people who have lived lives marked by pain, victory, gladness, and sorrow. No one here arrived with a perfect testimony or a life free of scars. We showed up because something inside us said there had to be more than the cycle we were living in, and we found that reason in Christ.

This community was not built around a program or a set of steps. It was built around people who have sat in the same chairs you may be sitting in now, wrestling with the same shame, the same failed promises to themselves, and the same exhaustion of trying to fix what only God can heal. Scripture says, "Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." That is not a suggestion. It is the pattern of life we are called to, and it is the pattern we live out together every time we gather.

Here you will not find judgment for how far you have fallen or how long it took you to get here. You will find men and women who understand the weight of addiction because they have carried it themselves, and who now walk in the freedom Christ purchased for them. We do not pretend healing is easy or instant. We have walked through the hard nights, the relapses, the slow rebuilding of trust, and the Word of God has proven faithful at every step.

We long to welcome you into this community, not as a project to be fixed, but as a brother or sister to walk alongside. Ecclesiastes reminds us, "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion, but woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up." You were never meant to fight this alone, and you do not have to any longer.
